Please note that our gold solution will work at room temperature but works better at 50^oC - 60^oC^.  Warming the object will also improve the plating function and reduce the plating time

Caswell 24ct or 18ct (harder wearing) Gold plates almost as fast as a cyanide gold, but without any of the dangers of deadly poisoning from ingestion through the skin or from the production of cyanide gas.

Use the solution on any type of brush plating set-up or as a tank dipping system. The latter is more favorable when doing objects such as flowers or baby shoes.

The system operates with either stainless steel anodes, or 24-carat gold anodes. Gold anodes prolong the life of the solution.

Caswell 24ct or 18ct Gold will plate directly onto tin, copper, brass, bronze, nickel, silver and most solders. Some alloys and some costume jewellery must be copper or nickel plated first. 

Clean the anode/wand frequently with a mild abrasive such as 'Soft Scrub' or 'Vim'.

This can be done 'on the vehicle' using our PlugNPlate power pack and wands, or any other type of brush plating machine.

Alternatively, the emblems may be removed from the vehicle and 'dip' plated in the larger 1-gallon set-up.

The system works best if applied to a nickel or buffed copper plate surface.

Some objects may be covered with a type of chrome paint or lacquer. Test the piece first by checking that it is conductive, using a multi-meter.

Trying to match existing gold supplied by another company is difficult as shades may vary. (It is better to lightly re-coat the old gold with a new layer)

An application of a VHT Clear Lacquer or silicone wax over a plated item will increase its wear capabilities, reduce water spotting and enhance the gold's colour.
