SD-COMSCALE 650 is a compound specifically developed for removing corrosion from steel and iron.  It is supplied as one litre of concentrate for you to mix with ten litres of water. 

This large volume allows components to be immersed in SD-COMSCALE 650 for thorough cleaning.  It is also useful when SD-COMSCALE 650 is used for de-rusting the inside of car and motorcycle tanks.  

The outside of a tank can be treated by leaving the tank to float in the bath of SD-COMSCALE 650 to effect external removal.  

After use the SD-COMSCALE 650 solution can be placed in a suitable plastic container and stored for future use.  We would suggest that it is passed through a coffee filter to filter out the loose rust and stop any further chemical reaction before storing.  Please mark the container appropriately 

ULTRA SONIC De-RUSTING

Comscale 650 is also useful in ultrasonic cleaning units. Using a concentration of 20% for the mix. A constant temperature of about 55⁰ - 60⁰ C removes even heavy corrosion in a short time.

A heater, shown right, is installed in the tank to keep the liquid at 34^oC. This speeds up the action but does not make the stripping action any better.  Temperatures of up to 60^oC can be maintained if required

The action of the Comscale 650 causes millions of bubbles to generate gradually removing the rust from the surface of the part

This is the basket after 90 minutes in the tank.  Some dead rust particles were brushes off with a stiff nylon brush

The basket is lowered fully into the solution to remove all of the rust

This is the finished basket de-rusted and rubbed lightly with a nylon brush. The clutch plates fit well into the inner part of the unit
