AIR PUMP: Air
agitation is recommended in some plating operations to eliminate the
formation of air bubbles on the part, which could lead to pitting.
The air flow will also circulate the electrolyte around teh parts in a
constant motion.
|
|

|
The Air Curtain provides
a flexible means of distributing the airflow of bubbles around the part,
It can be bent into any shape from straight line to a circle. The 70cm
lencth allows for good coverage in our plating tanks |
|

|
A In-line Valve allows
you to control the volume of air and therefore movement that effects the
electrolyte. |
|

|
The Bubbler is a more localised
distributor of the air stream. |
|

|
Air Hose for the air
agitation units. This is sold by the metre. |

Filter
unit and Agitator.

This
kit is a great addition to your Copper, Nickel or Copy Chrome™ tank.
It provides instant agitation and constant filtering from a
submersible pump. Charcoal
fits inside the filter case when required to remove organic
contaminants. Foam filter
removes sediments and solids. No
need to use air agitation. After
charcoal filtering of Nickel or Copy Chrome add brightener.
Brightener treats 4.5 litres of electrolyte. |

| Fume
Control System |
 |
Due
to the high current usage during chrome plating and anodising, a mist of
acid is produced from the tank. This can become a nuisance due to the
corrosive nature of the product and its yellow stain. The Complete
Plating Manual shows how to control much of this, using an inexpensive
'fume' hood made from an old cooking stove/range hood.
Commercial
platers also use these floating solid plastic balls to reduce this mist.
They are left in the tank and cover the entire surface of the chromic
acid solution, reducing the emissions. They will reduce the mist by as
much as 70%, saving chemical and keeping the entire operation much
cleaner.
Approx 90 x 1" polyethylene floating balls are supplied in
each pack, which is sufficient to cover one of our 3.5 or 5 gal plating
tanks.
These balls are also great for other plating tanks, helping to
keep heat in the tank, thus requiring less energy to heat the tank.

Mist Suppressants |
A
chemical blanket that actually floats on top of the plating tank and virtually eliminates all misting when used with Fume Control Balls. Use
1 bottle with each bag of fume control balls.
