ETHANOL PROOF FUEL TANK RENOVATION KIT FOR FUEL TANKS THAT HOLD UP TO 33 LITRES OF FUEL
THIS KIT IS FOR COMPLETE RENOVATION
One of the biggest problems with todays fuels is the ethanol content, many fuel tanks have been fitted with Tanks sealers in the past few years, and now you are finding small bits that resemble varnish in your Carburetor blocking up the jets, or can see that the tanks sealer has started to break up and rust is starting appear beneath it.
Our 3 stage process kit will remove the old tank sealer, de rust the tank, and then fit a new liner that will always be Ethanol proof.
Use the Caswell Tank Seal Remover to remove the old seal, this product was manufactured to remove Kreem and POR15, the most common sealers to fail, the product works on vapour, so 1 Litre is enough for the biggest of motorcycle fuel tanks, this will either turn the old seal back to a liquid or will make if fall away in chunks, after washing out (we use dishwasher tablets in Hot Water), if the Tank Seal Remover will not remove areas were when originally applied was to thick, as long as its stable, it is OK to put the new seal over the top.
Mix the Fuel Tank Rust Remover with Tap water, 1 Litre to 9 Litres of Water, leave in the fuel tank over night, and you will awake to a lovely clean fuel tank, if you cannot seal straight away, keep it in a dry place as it will not take long for the rust to start again. You are now ready to apply the Tank Sealer
Mix Part A and B together, you will end up with a solution similar to treacle, pour it in the tank, and roll it around, it will stick to the sides, and create a lining for the tank, it will set solid in 24 hours, but we advise you that you should leave for 7 days. This is a brief description of all the process, but the kits are supplied with full instructions and are available in German and French if needed.
Fibreglass and Plastic Fuel Tanks
All Caswell Fuel Tank Sealer are ethanol proof, we advise against using our tank seal remover in Plastic or Fibreglass Tanks as its to aggressive, the only way to remove the old seal is manually, for tanks sealers for Fibreglass and Plastic for fuel tanks that hold up to 15 Litres of Fuel CLICK HERE, and for Fuel Tanks that hold up to 33 Litres CLICK HERE
We recommend that if you use any thinners to clean the tank, please only use Lacquer thinners, as there is a chance that some other thinners will contain chemicals that react and could cause the seal to weaken.
The Kit is available in 2 sizes, The Mini Kit is for Fuel Tanks that hold up to 15 Litres of Fuel, and the larger kit for tanks that hold up to 33 Litres, once the tins are opened they have a shelf life of approx 6 months.
