Decorative Copper Effect Kit for Mils Steel

This kit is all that you need to create a Copper Patina on Furniture, Staircases, Bar Counters, Fire Places, etc. First clean the metal and remove all grease, debris and mill scale using our eco friendly water based metal cleaner, once the surface is clean you can start to apply the Copper Oxide Solution

Never use Acetate or Acetone to clean the surface, this can make the surface go white, and the only way you can remove it is to Shot Blast

Wear protective Gloves, and make sure that you are working in an environment that is clean, and is a minimum of 27°c, pour the Copper Oxide solution in to a container, and cut the abrasive cloth in to smaller squares, if you attempt to apply this in the way that you apply Polish to a Car Bonnet, it will go wrong.

Work on Areas approx 1 sq ft, massaging the Copper oxide into the metal with the abrasive cloth, depending on the depth of colour you need, it will take between 2-6 coats, lower quality metals will
also need more coats.

Once you have completed the whole item, and are happy with the appearance, wipe it down to make sure it is dry, and apply the beeswax, once dry, polish off. When you apply Copper Oxide, you are putting the colour in to the metal, not on the surface, there is a big variance in metal qualities, so the effect can differ

This kit is available in 2 sizes, a Litre Kit comprising 1 Litre of Copper Oxide, 1 litre of Metal Cleaner, 0.5kg of Patina Beeswax and 3 Abrasive Cloths, while its very difficult to give coverage rate, in most situations this should be good for 4-5 sq metres plus The second Kit comprises of 5 Litres of Copper Oxide, 5 Litres of Metal Cleaner, 1 kg of Patina Beeswax and 6 Abrasive Cloths, this should do 20-25 sq metres plus

These figure are not set in stone, as previously mentioned the quality of the metal and the number of coats needed, will effect the consumption
