Phenol Novolac Epoxy Gas Tank Sealer

For use in Metal or Fibreglass/ Composite Tanks

Will cope with all current E numbers: E5, E10 and E25

Phenol Novolac Epoxies are a new breed of chemical resistant materials, able to withstand permanent immersion of many harsh solvents, fuels and oils. This Epoxy has much better bond strength than single component products, with strengths of up to 3000 PSI, and this higher strength reduces the need for a clinically clean surface, as the epoxy actually prefers to bond to a rough surface. Our new phenol novolac is more thixotropic, which means it ‘hangs’ on the tank walls during the coating process. This gives a thicker overall coating. There is more  volume of material in the kit to allow for this.

To prepare the metal tank, simply place several nuts & bolts, or a piece of old bike chain inside and about a pint of lacquer thinner, MEK or toluene. Shake the tank around to dislodge any loose particles, then drain off the liquid and allow to dry. This procedure removes any oils left over from the fuel.

Manufactured in the USA by:

Block off any weeping seams or holes by placing duct tape over them, and fill any ports with putty, then mix up the Epoxy Gas Tank Sealer and pour into the tank. Slowly rotate the tank in every direction for several minutes, then pour out any excess resin.  Allow to harden for 72 hours before putting into use.  If doing two small tanks, ACCURATELY measure out half of each container and mix together.

Epoxy Gas Tank Sealer (16oz) coats up to 2 x 19litre tanks.

TAPOX

2part epoxy sealer for steel tanks.  Developed as a Bio-fuel resistant product

After 72 hours at about 20° C and a humidity of less than 70 % this product creates a strong film, resistant against most fuels including ethanol and bio-fuels and is extremely strong against mechanical abrasion.

TAPOX is an excellent preventive and remedial measure being a special 2-part epoxy coating, which is designed specifically to be resistant to modern fuels including the Bio-Ethanol (up to all current "E" numbers), non leaded products and to provide a corrosion free tank interior made from steel and aluminium.

TAPOX will also assist in sealing cracks and pin prick holes.   TAPOX is useful for bikes, cars, trucks, boats, lawnmowers, etc and is also useful as a final coat for metal.  One kit will seal a medium size motorcycle tank.

Please use the product only as set out with the correct mixing ratio of hardener and curing technique.

TSR6 - Tank Seal Remover

For removing old, lifting tank sealer prior to re-finishing with GTS 1750 / Tapox.

This product will remove sealers based on Novolac Epoxies, Amine Epoxies, Polyester resins and paint from the
inside of fuel tanks. Instructions are included. The process is simple as you pour the TSR6 into the tank with some
pea shingle, seal the filler cap opening and rotate the tank in all directions.
Continue until all old resin is dissolved and then empty out into a container and allow to evaporate off.
The tank should be left open for the vapours to leave the stripped unit.
